Design for Music
Big Shifter was a 4-piece rock band out of New Jersey whose lead singer and I shared an interest in meditation, eastern philosophy and other esoteric subjects. When he asked me to design the cover for their forthcoming album, Mantra, I took the opportunity to create imagery based on my interest in some geometric optical configurations I'd seen in esoteric literature. It worked well to support the band's aesthetic since the music was very layered, drenched in reverb, and other-worldly.
